How It Works

We meet with you to appraise the value of your timber, providing you with a quote. We use appraisal process to discuss best practices and forest management, as well. When the quote is accepted, we pay you for all of the trees slated for harvest.

After you get paid, we get to work, harvesting the marked trees according to the plan agreed upon between us.

It’s that simple.

Goals

Not only can a select harvest generate income for landowners, it can also yield several other benefits.

Timber harvesting is an important activity for maintaining timber health and improving wildlife habitats. MK Timber practices selective harvesting, which involves removing large, mature trees that have created a canopy over the ground and restricted the growth of smaller trees and other plant life below. Thinning and opening the woods allows more sunlight and moisture to reach the ground, allowing diverse plant life to flourish. Selective harvesting is a conservative alternative to clear-cutting and creates an environment that is attractive to a variety of game while also providing new income opportunities for property owners, who get paid for desirable trees.
